Are the watch hands universal?

Firstly the dials diameter vary from 20, 25, 30, 35mm. that tells the length of watch hands are different, they would be in 5- 12mm for hour hand. Hands and dials are in gold ratio, too long or too short would affect the aesthetic and harmony of a watch.

secondly, There are Quartz and Mechanical movement. so the hand fitting holes diameters are different too. for example, Quartz movement in small hand fitting, like Miyota 2035 (1.2*0.7*0.17), they are in same hand fitting as GL22. if they are in same length, these 2 watches can be exchanged hands. but they can't share the hands with Ronda 763 movement (1.2*0.7*0.2mm) as the second hand fitting diameter are not same. Mechanical movement like ETA2824, (1.5*0.9*0.25mm) and NH35 (1.5*0.9*0.2mm). they can't share the hands too.

Thirdly, dial thickness, of course normally the Watch Dial in 0.4mm, then we use the common hand tube. but some dials like 2 layers or gemstone dial, thickness around 0.8-1.0mm. normal hand tube can't fit on movement. we need to heighten hand tube for better working.

Thus, you clearly know it is not so easy to pick one watch hand to fit your watch. it is not working. at least they are in same length, same hand fitting (same company series movements) and same dial thickness. once they are same, then you can change the style of hands from alpha watch hands to Arrow hands or Lance hands to dauphine hands to change the looking of your watch.
